The Moon and A Star Once upon a new moon, the night sky starkly dark, A shimmering celestial star flickered away, Quite full of herself, believing she was highest above all: - “How I’ve shone the way for countless people!” Dark nights passed, a waxing crescent soon arrived A feast for the eyes of the world, the moon gently smiled Her light faint and fading, the night star grew even more envious While the clear moon carried on with tender grace. The orb on this sixteenth night of the lunar month was dazzling Cast your gaze upon the moon, recalling A time of adolescence, of similar phase as the current moon You were still pouting with jealousy, like that star of old…
