The following is one of the poems I wrote in the 1980s in Vietnam; I was able to retain it and would like to share with you. I believe that human beings deserve to have happiness, whether while living or on one's deathbed.
Being Human
Heavenly realm is quite divine
A tinge of sorrow ne'er intertwined
Hellfire's brimming with suffering
Knowing naught of loving.
As for the earthly world
Packed with anguish and tragedy
Chockful of love and happiness
Darkness and brilliance together be!
Fortunate to be human beings
It behooves us to show kindness and compassion
Be keen on rooting out wickedness
In bliss immersed when we return to dust.
